What is the scope of heritage?

Heirs, upon decease of the decedent, take over the heritage fully with his/her receivables and debts. They have the right to reject the heritage within three months.

If the heirs do not have sufficient information regarding properties of the decedent, it is possible to carry out/conduct research through banks, title deed registries, police departments (for registered vehicles) in order to obtain information regarding the scope of heritage.

If it is suspected that the decedent may have debts unknown to the heirs, a lawsuit may be filed in order to ascertain the receivables, properties and debts of the decedent. Thereafter the heirs may decide whether to accept or reject the inheritance.
